South Bali
Surf breaks, rice-field cafés and a young, creative beach-town energy.
Canggu stretches north of Seminyak along a run of dark-sand surf beaches - Batu Bolong, Echo Beach and Berawa. It has grown quickly into Bali's café, co-working and surf hub, with rice fields still threaded between villa developments. Roads are narrow and traffic is slow, so most visitors base themselves within walking distance of the beach they intend to surf. Expect a younger, more casual crowd than Seminyak, and a strong brunch and sunset-bar culture.
Don't miss: Batu Bolong and Echo Beach surf

Experiences
SurfingLearn to surf on Canggu's forgiving beach breaks with a private instructor all to yourself. Two hours covering safety, paddling, pop-ups and riding your first waves, with soft board and rashie included — ideal for complete beginners and nervous first-timers.
AdventureTake a two-seat off-road buggy along Bali's black sand west coast — hard-packed beach runs at the waterline, dune tracks and coastal village trails. Briefing, helmet and guide included, self-drive or ride shotgun, finishing with a sunset stop on the sand.
CultureCook classic Balinese dishes from scratch in a relaxed Canggu kitchen, learning spice pastes, fresh market ingredients and traditional techniques before sitting down to eat what you made.
AdventureLearn to ride a scooter safely with a patient local instructor on quiet backroads around Canggu. Perfect for first-timers who want the freedom to explore Bali on two wheels, covering controls, braking, cornering and Balinese road etiquette before heading out on the rice-field lanes.
AdventureDesign and craft your own silver ring or pendant in a hands-on Canggu workshop, guided by local Balinese silversmiths from first sketch to polished finish.
AttractionsBali's most photographed sea temple, perched on a rocky outcrop off the south-west coast. Gates open 07:00–19:00 and the crowds thin early, but sunset between 18:15 and 18:45 is the classic shot. A Kecak fire dance runs nightly at 18:00 near Batu Bolong.
