South Bali

Nusa Dua, Bali

A manicured resort enclave with calm, swimmable white-sand beaches.

About Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua is a gated, purpose-built resort precinct on Bali's south-east coast, around 20 minutes from the airport. Its beaches are protected by an offshore reef, which makes the water calm and predictable - the main reason it is popular with Australian families and first-time visitors. Resorts are large and full-service, with landscaped grounds, a beachfront promenade and the Bali Collection shopping area. It is deliberately low-key rather than lively.

Walk along the seabed in a clear air-fed helmet — no diving certificate or swimming skills needed. You descend a few metres off Nusa Dua, feed tropical reef fish by hand and stay completely dry from the neck up. One of the easiest ways for families and non-swimmers to see Bali's underwater world.
