How it works

Where These Numbers Come From

Everything shown is indicative planning guidance, not a quote.

Flights

The flight figure is built from return fares recently observed on your route during your travel month. It is not a live fare or a guaranteed price — when there isn’t enough data for your route, we say so instead of guessing, and point you to a live flight search.

Accommodation

The accommodation figure comes from rooms actually available for your dates across our curated Bali hotels in the area and style you choose, multiplied by your rooms and nights. Final booking totals can differ once taxes, room types and occupancy are applied.

How Much Does a Bali Holiday Cost?

There is no single answer, and anyone who gives you one is guessing. Two couples can spend the same seven nights in Bali, in the same month, and come home having spent wildly different amounts — not because one was careless, but because they made different choices about where they flew from, where they stayed, how they got around and how often they ate out. That is why this page asks about your trip rather than handing you an average.

What affects the cost of a Bali trip?

The biggest variables, roughly in order of impact, are your departure city and travel dates, the area of Bali you choose, your accommodation standard and how many rooms you need, and the number of travellers sharing those costs. School holidays, the December–January peak and the July–August dry-season rush all push airfares and room rates up, sometimes sharply. A trip built around Ubud and Sanur tends to cost less than the same trip built around Seminyak beach clubs and Uluwatu clifftop resorts.

After that come the daily choices: your dining style, whether you rely on ride apps, rent a scooter or hire a private driver, how many tours and activities you book, whether you pre-book airport transfers, whether you buy an eSIM or data plan, and how much you set aside for shopping, spa treatments and the small unplanned things every holiday produces.

Flights and accommodation

These two usually dominate the total, and they behave differently from everything else. Airfare depends almost entirely on your origin airport and your dates — a short hop from Perth or Singapore is a different financial proposition from a long-haul run out of Europe or North America. Where there is enough recent fare data for your route and travel month, the calculator uses what has actually been observed rather than a made-up figure; where there isn’t, it says so and sends you to a live flight search instead of inventing a number.

Accommodation works from rooms genuinely available for your dates across our curated Bali hotels in the area and style you pick. The spread within a single area can be enormous — a well-reviewed guesthouse and a private-pool villa are both “Ubud” — so the calculator shows the range that is actually on offer rather than flattening it into one number.

Daily spending in Bali

On-island spending is where personal style matters most. Eating at warungs and local cafés sits at one end of the scale; resort restaurants and beach clubs sit at the other, and the gap between them across a week is often larger than the gap between two hotel choices. Transport is priced per vehicle rather than per person in most cases, so a family of four often pays much the same for a driver as a couple does. Activities scale with how much you want to do, not simply with how long you stay.

For these categories the calculator uses planning allowances — sensible daily and per-activity ranges based on what things typically cost in Bali — rather than live prices. They are there to keep your budget realistic, not to quote a specific restaurant, driver or tour.

Why we show a budget range

A single figure would be easier to read and far less honest. Prices move, availability changes, and your own habits will land somewhere inside a spread rather than on a point. A range tells you what a comfortable version and a careful version of the same trip look like, which is the information you actually need when deciding whether to book. Where we don’t have enough reliable data for a component, we leave it out and tell you, rather than padding the total to make it look complete.

How to use your estimate

Treat the result as a planning figure, not a booking quote. Use the lower end to sanity-check whether the trip is feasible, and the upper end to decide what you should actually set aside. If a category looks high, change the input and watch what happens — swapping a private driver for ride apps, or one area for another, will often move the total more than trimming small extras ever could. And if you already have a real flight or hotel price, enter it: your own figure always overrides ours.

Not sure of your trip shape yet? Plan My Bali Trip will suggest an area, a stay style and an itinerary first — then bring those details back here to cost them out. Everything is shown in your selected home currency, and nothing on this page is a price offered by balideals.deals or any booking partner.
