Bali packing list

A practical packing list for a Bali trip from Australia, including the things people most often forget.

Clothing. Lightweight, breathable clothes; swimwear (two sets dries better); a light rain layer for wet season; one long-sleeve layer for cool highland mornings in Ubud or Kintamani; and modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees for temple visits - a sarong is usually provided at major temples but bringing your own is easier.

Footwear. Thongs for the beach, plus something with grip for waterfalls, temple steps and rice-terrace walks.

Health and comfort. High-SPF sunscreen (cheaper and more reliable bought at home), insect repellent, rehydration sachets, basic first aid, and any prescription medication in its original packaging with a copy of the script.

Tech. Universal adaptor (Indonesia uses type C/F plugs, 230V), power bank, and an eSIM or plan for local data.

Documents. Passport with sufficient validity, travel insurance policy details, and copies of bookings stored offline.
