What To Expect On Arrival

After immigration and baggage collection at Ngurah Rai International Airport, you'll walk through a busy arrivals hall where drivers wait behind a barrier. A pre-booked transfer means someone is holding a board with your name, so you skip the taxi queue and the negotiation entirely.

Travel time to Jimbaran is typically 15-30 minutes, though Bali traffic is unpredictable — allow extra time in the late afternoon, and expect a slower run on Friday and Sunday evenings.

The Drive To Jimbaran

Jimbaran is immediately south of the airport, reached via Jalan Uluwatu. The road narrows through Jimbaran village and past the fish market, which is congested in the late afternoon as the seafood warungs set up for dinner service.

There are two very different Jimbarans: the flat bay with beachfront seafood grills, and the clifftop resorts above Muaya and toward Balangan, which add another 10 to 20 minutes of steep, winding road.

Jimbaran Transfer Tips

  • Confirm whether your hotel is on the bay or up on the cliff — the quoted time differs significantly.
  • Late-afternoon arrivals hit the fish-market and dinner-service crush.
  • It is one of the few areas where you can be at your hotel within half an hour of clearing customs.
