Candi Dasa, Bali

Candi Dasa is a low-key stretch of the east coast, about two hours from the airport, historically a diving base and now a quiet alternative to the crowded south. The shoreline is protected by seawalls in places, with better swimming at nearby Pasir Putih (White Sand Beach). It is close to the Tirta Gangga water palace, the Lempuyang temple complex and the traditional Bali Aga village of Tenganan.
