East Bali

Sidemen, Bali

A green river valley of rice terraces and traditional village life.

About Sidemen

Sidemen lies in east Bali beneath Mount Agung, roughly two hours from the airport. The valley is largely agricultural, with terraced rice fields, weaving workshops and small guesthouses and boutique retreats along the ridge. There is little to "do" beyond walking, cycling, river trekking and visiting nearby temples - which is precisely the appeal for travellers looking for the quieter Bali that Ubud has partly grown out of.
