About Kintamani
Kintamani sits on the rim of the Batur caldera in Bali's central highlands, about two hours from the airport and an hour from Ubud. The main draw is the view across Mount Batur and Lake Batur, best seen from the ridge cafés at Penelokan, and the pre-dawn Batur sunrise trek. It is noticeably cooler than the coast, so bring a layer, and most visitors come as a day trip or overnight before an early start.
