Bali travel costs from India

For most Indian travellers, flights and accommodation are the two biggest line items, followed by food, activities and transport, which tend to be noticeably cheaper in Bali than in most Indian metros.

Flights. Direct IndiGo services from Mumbai and Bengaluru are usually the best value and the fastest option. Flying from Delhi, Chennai or Kolkata typically means a one-stop connection via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, which can cost more and add several hours to the journey. Booking 6-8 weeks ahead, and avoiding peak periods like Indian school holidays and Diwali/year-end, generally gets the best fares.

Accommodation. Bali offers a wide range, from budget guesthouses in Canggu and Kuta to villas with private pools in Ubud and Seminyak. Prices are generally lower than comparable options in Goa or Southeast Asian beach destinations, especially outside July, August and the December-January peak.

On the ground. Food, scooter rentals, local transport and most activities cost noticeably less than in India's major cities in relative terms, though imported goods, alcohol, and beach club entry can be surprisingly expensive.

Extras worth budgeting for. Airport transfers, travel insurance, a local SIM or eSIM, and the mandatory Bali Tourist Levy (a small one-time fee paid on arrival) are easy to forget when estimating a trip budget.
