Getting to Bali
Seoul Incheon flies direct to Denpasar in around seven hours with a healthy choice of full-service and low-cost carriers. Busan, Daegu, Jeju and Gwangju connect through Incheon, Hong Kong, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. South Korean passport holders normally enter Indonesia on a visa on arrival.

For travellers from South Korea
Entry rules, money and practical planning that apply specifically to South Korean travellers.
South Korean nationals normally enter Indonesia on a visa on arrival, paid at Ngurah Rai airport or purchased online beforehand as an e-VOA. It runs for 30 days and can usually be extended once for a further 30.
Indonesia requires at least six months' passport validity from arrival, and airlines check this at the Incheon departure gate. The electronic customs declaration is completed online around landing.
Check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs travel advice for Indonesia before booking anything non-refundable.
Bali is priced in Indonesian rupiah and the won goes a long way on villas, drivers and spa treatments. Cards are accepted across the main tourist areas; warungs, markets and drivers expect cash.
Use bank-branch ATMs rather than standalone machines, decline the machine's own conversion rate, and travel with a fee-free debit or travel card.
Bali charges a tourist levy on arrival, payable online or at the airport. Most hotel quotes include service and tax; some villa quotes do not.
Korean national health insurance does not cover treatment in Indonesia. Comprehensive travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is essential — serious cases are usually flown to Singapore.
Read the motorcycle clause: most policies only cover scooter injuries if you hold the correct motorcycle licence plus an international driving permit, and wore a helmet.
Bali's dry season is April to October. Seollal, Chuseok, the late-July to August summer holidays and the Christmas period are the peaks; April, May, September and early October are the value windows.
